SciCafe, Europe’s Network of Science Cafés, invites you to attend the SciCafe 2012 conference and accompanying events taking place in the village of Panormos near Rethymno, Crete, Greece, on 2nd – 4th July 2012.
SciCafe 2012 offers an excellent opportunity for researchers and practitioners from Europe and beyond who wish to explore the science café concept. The setting will encourage cross-fertilisation of ideas from diverse fields and contexts, with a special emphasis on demonstrating and jointly investigating science café practices, their strengths and boundaries.
Participation in the conference is free of charge. If you are interested, please contact the organisers in the first instance to reserve your place. If interested in submitting a paper, please follow the procedure described below.
The available options for paper submission are:
- Research papers (4000 - 5000 words)
- Reports of case studies and good practice examples (1500 - 2000 words)
An abstract of 500 words has to be submitted as soon as possible and by 15th June 2012 at the latest, concisely explaining the scope, background, and assets or findings of the work to be presented. Authors of selected papers and reports will be notified within five working days from the submission of their proposal. Selected papers and reports will be published in a book of proceedings which will come out towards the end of summer 2012. Full papers and reports for publication will have to be submitted by 6th July at the latest.
